Jennifer’s Year End Picks

This year my number of books read overall did take a hit. And my variety of books took a hit too. I didn’t read as many Young Adult books and read a ton more Middle Grade and more New Adult. We’re supposed to do a Top 5, instead I’ll give you my top few per category and then my #1 at the bottom.

Middle Grade
Counting By 7s by Holly Goldberg Sloane
Nicholas St. North and the Battle of the Nightmare King by William Joyce
Liesl and Po by Lauren Oliver

Young Adult
I Swear by Lane Davis
Game by Barry Lyga
Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

New Adult
Need by Stephanie Lawton
Beautiful Bastard and Beautiful Player by Christina Lauren

… did you really think I’d actually go a year without putting my homeboy on this list? Are you cracked?

 hoh

My number one favorite book of the year: House of Hades by Rick Riordan.
Round of unsurprise by anyone reading this.

Jennifer Dee

Jennifer spends most of her time with books. Whether it's reading, writing, selling, fangirling or crafting for them. When her duties YA/ MG editor of Novel Thoughts are momentarily fulfilled, she works as a Children's bookseller and is the Middle Grade editor for Riffle. She also enjoys coffee, bagels, knitting and Percy Jackson.

Game and Eleanor & Park are two of my favorites from this year, too. I can’t wait for the third Jasper Dent book!
