Top Ten Series I Haven't Finished Yet

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and Bookish.

This week's topic is naming the Top Ten series I have yet to finish. But I'm sorta changing it to "Top Ten Series I've Yet to Finish or Am Behind On" because some series can't be fully finished because they aren't out yet. Anyways, some of these are just because I've not gotten around to it, and some are because I can be plain lazy at times, no matter how much I love the series.

Jeremy

1. The Curse Workers series by Holly Black.
This has got to be one of my favorite series and I just adore Holly Black, but for some reason I just haven't taken the time to finish Black Heart. Maybe it was the constant changing of the covers that put me off, I'm not sure.

2. The Mortal Instruments series PART TWO by Cassandra Clare.
Before you jump all over me, I have read the original trilogy through City of Fallen Angels! The only one I've yet to read it City of Lost Souls. I was out of town when it came out which threw me off because usually I'd buy it and read it the day it released. So I've yet to get back to it.

3. The Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare.
I've started Clockwork Angel and got over 100 pages in. But somewhere along the lines, I got distracted and haven't gotten back to reading it. Even though I've heard that people love this series more than TMI.

4. The Maze Runner series by James Dashner.
I loved The Maze Runner! But while reading The Scorch Trials, I'm pretty sure another book came out that I thought had higher priority and so, about 150 pages in, I deserted it. But I will come back!

5. The Body Finder series by Kimberly Derting.
No matter how many good things I've heard about this series, I just haven't restarted it. I love the premise and the author, but I just can't seem to get the motivation to pick it up again.

6. The Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer.
This one I'm sorta okay with not finishing. I mean, I read Twilight before the movie was even talked about much but after that, it took me forever to get through New Moon. Maybe one day, when I have no better YA to read, I'll read Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. But luckily for me, there is so much awesome YA these days, I won't have to.

7. Divergent series by Veronica Roth.
Now don't get me wrong, I loved the 100+ pages of Divergent that I read. But while I was reading it, Jeffrey mailed it to one of our friends in the UK to keep so she could read it. After that, it took us a while to finally buy a copy for ourselves and I've just not gotten back into it. YES I KNOW IT'S AMAZING AND I AM ASHAMED.

8. Hex Hall series by Rachel Hawkins.
Now this series is one of Jeremy's favorites, but I loved Hex Hall. I was attempting to read Hex Hall and Demonglass before Spellbound released but got caught up with a few other books.

9. Uglies by Scott Westerfeld.
I started the series before I was as into reading YA as I am now and was also in school at the time which threw me off a bit so I didn't dedicate as much time to reading as I do now. I just got preoccupied with it and haven't gotten back into it. Hopefully soon though!

10. The Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin.
I absolutely loved Game of Thrones and Clash of Kings and am currently reading A Storm of Swords. The only reason I haven't finished this one yet its because of it's sheer size. These books are huge and I'm taking my time through them. I'll finish them one of these days!

So what are some series that you've yet to finish? Did we mention any of them above? Let us know and why so maybe we can encourage each other to finish a series we have set down. Who knows? It could be a new favorite!

  1. Wow! The series I've left unfinished aren't half as great as these ones! I always leave the ones I'm not interested in by the first half unless I really have to...

  3. OMG, you must finish Curse Workers ! I devoured Black Heart the week it came out, it brings the trilogy first circle.

I read the first 3 Uglies books and started the 4th but just got so tired of the world. That's the only series I really need to finish.

  4. Jeffrey! You should totally finish Hex Hall - it's full of awesome. I'm in the same boat with most of your books, Jeremy. I liked em', just haven't gotten around to finish them up.

  6. Great list! Where to start? Curse Works-fantastic end to the series, totally annoyed by cover change. TMI-book four-ugh, totally won me over with book 5 and I prefer the Infernal Devices series. Body Finder-something happens in book 2 that really turned me off the series and I won't read on. Currently slogging through A Feast for Crows. Just wait until you get to book 3! Oh. My. God. Also, finish Hex Hall and Divergent. Maze Runner is on my TBR list. Some day.
