Debut of the Month: Starters by Lissa Price

Today is a big day for book releases like Spell Bound by Rachel Hawkins and Wanderlove by Kirsten Hubbard, but one we are REALLY excited for (and that's why it's our feature debut of the month) is Starters by Lissa Price! I just started it yesterday and by the end of the first chapter I was drawn in. I can't wait to finish reading it and I'm sure you'll hear a lot about it from me on Twitter and on here in the next few days.

Here's the full summary of Starters from Goodreads:
Callie lost her parents when the Spore Wars wiped out everyone between the ages of twenty and sixty. She and her little brother, Tyler, go on the run, living as squatters with their friend Michael and fighting off renegades who would kill them for a cookie. Callie’s only hope is Prime Destinations, a disturbing place in Beverly Hills run by a mysterious figure known as the Old Man.

He hires teens to rent their bodies to Enders—seniors who want to be young again. Callie, desperate for the money that will keep her, Tyler, and Michael alive, agrees to be a donor. But the neurochip they place in Callie’s head malfunctions and she wakes up in the life of her renter, living in her mansion, driving her cars, and going out with a senator’s grandson. It feels almost like a fairy tale, until Callie discovers that her renter intends to do more than party—and that Prime Destinations’ plans are more evil than Callie could ever have imagined. . . .
So congratulations to Lissa for being a 2012 Debut Author and for writing what I'm expecting to be a fantastic novel. Make sure you go out and pick this one up this week! Let me know what you think of it when you finish!

  1. I won an ARC of Starters recently and I'm itching to start it after all the amazing things I've been hearing lately.
