First Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
It's something we could possibly lose before we know it. Today, we are blacking out as a protest to SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) which will in turn give government the ability to shut down any and every site or blog they please if they don't like it. We, along with Tumblr, Google, Reddit, and many more, protest against this. Speech is free. I will not filter myself nor limit myself due to government restrains. I will post what I like on my blog and those who don't like it don't have to keep reading it or follow me. Simple as that.
As an open letter to Congress, don't pass this. It will be a huge mistake. It will affect so much more than you think. Your main goal is to stop online piracy of the few, but in-turn, you're stopping progression. You are cutting down creativity and stifling the masses. You think it will help, but it will only cause more chaos than it's worth. When you start taking away people's food, they revolt. Just let them eat cake.
The US Government should not have the right to decide what it's people can view online. I am appalled that this is even a real thing. It seems so very dystopian in nature.
