Last Sunday, we went down to a little indie bookshop called Little Shop of Stories in Decatur, Georgia. It's a pretty cool place with pretty cool people. Well, mostly haha. Why did we go down there? Because Maureen Johnson and Sarah Mlynowski were going to be there, of course!
They read excerpts of their newest books, The Last Little Blue Envelope and Ten Things We Did (and Probably Shouldn't Have). I can't wait to read both of them!
Maureen Johnson is definitely one of the funniest authors I've ever met! About halfway through the Q&A time, she felt a special connection to us, so she put on her hotel robe and got a little more comfortable. And she kept making Canadian jokes to Sarah that were so lame, but still funny. (Eh!)
Sarah seemed a bit shy at first, but after her reading, she was much more fun. I have never read any of her books, but after meeting her (and buying Ten Things We Did), I will definitely be picking up more of her stuff soon. She's also very pretty :)
After the madness that was the signing line (we got there early to get a good ticket), we had to say goodbye once again to some blogger friends: Lori from Pure Imagination, Tiffani (who has the most adorable daughter in the world!), Elizabeth, and a few more that I'm forgetting.
It was sad to say goodbye. But not really because we will be seeing each other again in September for Decatur Book Festival! You should come :)
