Since I already did a post on these days, just check that one out HERE!
Also, not mentioned in that post. We saw Wicked on Broadway Tuesday night and it was absolutely amazing! Seriously. Go see it!
Wednesday, May 25:
This day at BEA was pretty freaking fantastic. Why? Because first thing in the morning, I met Jimmy Fallon. Yes, him! He's only one of the funniest talk show hosts ever and I loved him on SNL! We got signed copies of his new book, Thank You Notes, and he called Kelsey "cute" which pretty much made her life. Met Maureen Johnson. She signed my book "Weasley is always king." How amazing is that?! Met Mindy Kaling from The Office right outside of the Javits Center! The rest of the BEA day was slow so we went back to our hotel a little early and napped. Then we got up and decided to have a "girls night out + Jeff and I" and went to see Bridesmaids...which is pretty much the most hilarious movie ever! After that, crashed back at our hotel. One more day of BEA.
Thursday, May 26:
This day ended up being a day for lines, evidently. I missed out on Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson because I was running 10 minutes late and they had already ran out by the time I got in line. So I ended up standing in 4 other lines. Oh, and I met Jane Lynch from Glee. Pretty cool.
After getting through the lines for the day and saying our goodbyes to some of the people I met, we headed back to our hotel for another nap. BEA wears you out. Believe me! We were invited to a Scholastic's launch party at 5:30 for their new This Is Teen Facebook page, which is amazing, and had drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and met three great ladies. Meg Cabot, Maggie Stiefvater, and Libba Bray! After the party, we headed downstairs for the actual launch event/signing and it was a lot of fun. Also, Andye may or may not have broken that shelf in the Scholastic Store. We're still questioning that tape. Then had dinner with about 12 others bloggers at a cool place in SoHo.
Friday, May 27:
We finally became tourists after a few days in NYC. Which is always the last thing I like to do because I hate looking like a tourist but come on...it's NYC. You gotta do some stuff. So we went to the Top of the Rock, Empire State Building, Museum of Modern Art, missed our NBC Studio Tour because Kelsey and I got lost in the city, and then had dinner with Andye and Kit at Juniors! It was a nice meal but sad because it was our last meal all together. We said our goodbyes to Andye and Kit before heading back to the hotel for the night. That is until Shannon and Stacey (Girls in the Stacks) called us up for a night on the town. Which ended up being us jumping from theater to theater trying to find Hangover 2 NOT sold out. They were all sold out. So we ended up seeing Bridesmaids a second time. Still as funny as the first time. This time, we crashed for real.
Saturday, May 28:
The day of sadness. After we woke up, it was the sad part of saying goodbye to Kelsey. And getting two cabbies in a fight over her. You're welcome. Then she headed off to the airport alone. After that, we took a subway up to the Central Park area and found a fancy diner to eat lunch at. We then took a taxi to The Metropolitan Museum of Art, which was fantastic. Then took a stroll across Central Park before heading back down to 30 Rock to make our NBC Studio Tour raincheck. At the tour, we saw Jimmy Fallon's studio and the sound stage where they record Saturday Night Live. All very cool things.
Sunday, May 29:
Glorious Sunday. After three days of trying and standing in line for ticket to see How To Succeed in Business without Really Trying on Broadway with Daniel Racliffe...we got tickets!!! And it was amazing! We were so close and overall it was just a great show! DRad can really sing! Who knew?! Afterwards, we ran outside to get his autograph and talk to him. And yes, we got it and yes, he touched Carla! It was the best! Anything that happened after this was pretty much just a haze. We did a few more things in town with Mitali before saying goodbye and heading back to our hotel. Our last night in NYC.
Monday, May 30:
As our trip came to a close, we packed our bags and headed out the door for the last time. And for the first time in over a week, we saw our hotel room floor, not covered in clothes. We loaded the car and left the city headed for Richmond with fond memories added to our minds that we'll never forget. That night we stayed in VA and found a nice little pizza place for dinner.
Tuesday, May 31:
My official last day of the trip. We drove from Richmond all the way to Anderson, SC (a long drive!) and said our final goodbyes to Carla and Jennifer before heading into our house. It was nice to be home but we already missed our friends.
The whole trip was just amazing and I had so much fun meeting everyone and spending time at BEA and with others outside of BEA. Whether it was dinner or shopping or getting lost, I loved every second of it. I really hope I can go next year to relive this awesome trip. I think I'll skip the driving part though.
If you want to see a few more pictures from the trip, check out my Yfrog page or Jeff's Facebook album!
