I've been meaning to do a post like this for a while just so you can meet those of us behind the daily runnings of Novel Thoughts and just get to know us a little bit better. It never hurts to know a fellow blogger more, does it?
If you've not checked out our About Page, you probably don't know how this blog was started and who in fact are the readers that post reviews each week. This post may not be for everyone but I'd like to be transparent with everyone so you know us!
Starting Novel Thoughts:
In March of 2010, I, Jeremy, had really just gotten into reading YA and really loved it. My friend Travis was already a blogger, Inked Books, and a long-time reader since our high school days. After boring days in college, I called him and my brother up asking for book suggestions and I would go down to the library and pick them up to read. This is what really got me started reading for the fun of it and not for educational purposes only. After reading a few books like Airman by Eoin Colfer, The Hunger Games and Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins, The Forest of Hands and Teeth and The Dead-tossed Waves by Carrie Ryan, and more, I really felt like I wanted to start a blog to share my love for these books and the like.
In May 2010, I started my Blogger account and started posting my reviews. By the end of the month I had about 6 reviews posted and I was really happy. What started out as quite humble beginnings has turned into something that truly blows my mind and excites me every day. It's because of those followers here that I love what I do!
Up until about November of 2010, I ran everything on the blog from reviews to posts and I was overwhelmed! So, having a twin brother that also reads is a bonus. He started reviewing for us and helped add a few more reviews to our list.
Around January 2011, I felt it'd be nice to add one more reviewer to the team so we added my friend Jennifer, who lives in Austin, Texas. And she has been awesome ever since!
Over the next few weeks, I thought it'd be fun to do little interviews with us so you guys can get to know the real people behind our pictures. Next week, we'll get to know Jennifer a little bit more!
Thanks for reading about how we were started and thank YOU for being so supportive over the past *almost* year! There are only 30 days left until my official one year blogoversary, so expect something HUGE! Good thing BEA is at the same time...books galore for you guys! :)
