The Launch of the Godspeed
So it's 11:11am on 1/11/11, well maybe not now that you're reading this post, but anyways...Today is a big day for Beth Revis and Penguin Teen with the release of the much-anticipated YA science fiction novel, Across the Universe.
The folks over at Penguin Teen were awesome enough to let us share this video of Beth talking about Across the Universe and what influenced her in writing this book. Check it out:
Exclusive Video with Beth Revis:
If you haven't seen the book trailer for Across the Universe yet, 1) shame on you and 2) watch it now!!
If you have been to the Across the Universe website at all in the past few weeks, all you were able to see was a teaser countdown "Until Arrival". But if you go there now, you can see that things are a LOT different. Be patient, you can visit the site after you finish reading this. That's why the link is at the end. The site boasts a digital replica of the Godspeed that you can explore with a click of your mouse and several downloads that you don't want to miss. If you want to see what the ship looks like outside of your imagination, explore it for yourself at the official ATU website!
Do we have any readers that are on Facebook? That's what I thought. So there are two types of people who should become a fan of Across the Universe on Facebook: 1) Those who have read Across the Universe, and 2) Those who haven't. Seriously, spread the love!
Also, io9.com will be hosting an exclusive excerpt of Across the Universe on their website from 11:11am to 11:11pm EST. If you visit the site at any point during those twelve hours, you will be able to read the first 111 pages of the book. How awesome is that?!
And after reading those first 111 pages, I know you're hooked. Now you're thinking, "What's the fastest way I can get this book without getting out of my chair?" (Did I read your mind? We think alike.) Well, don't fret! I have a quick and easy solution: buy the frexing book!! I can promise you it's worth the money. And to make it easier for you, here's a link too: http://bit.ly/eZRraO
I would like to thank Penguin Teen for allowing us the opportunity to share all this will you. And of course, I would like to thank the lady of the hour, Beth Revis for writing Across the Universe, without which all this would make sense to no one. Thank you both!
Now if I were you, I would thank everyone who made this all possible.
