In My Mailbox (11)

This week was the most anticipated week for us here on the blog because of one book in particular, Mockingjay! And if you follow this blog, I'm sure you, as well as a million other people, were as excited for it's release last Tuesday as well! And this is where I explain or adventure trying to get it. Rumors leaked that some Wal-marts and Targets across the country had stocked the shelves prior to its release, so of course we checked our local WM and Target with no such luck. Not even at 9PM the night before...So we sulked home to wait for our pre-ordered copy to come in from Scholastic.

Now, I had to work the next day (Tuesday) so i went to bed around 11 o' clock Monday night. But as always happens when I sleep too much the night before, I woke up around 2AM wide awake. Never fun. So I got out of bed and went to check on Jeremy who was sitting in our comfy reading chair staring at the computer screen. When I asked him what he was still doing up, he just looked at me and smiled, saying, "I got it." That was all I needed to hear. I knew he had downloaded the ebook. He had been reading since midnight. I was already I went to reading it on my Nook for iPod till I got tired around 6AM. If you haven't read it yet, please don't waste your time with anything else before you pick it up! Okay, onto the actual In My Mailbox post:

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Won (from OnceUponAReview):

  1. all great books! and Mockingjay! *jealous*

    Here's my In My Mailbox

  2. I really liked Hush Hush, I'll be looking forward to your review of it.

  3. Great books this week! I'm looking forward to Personal Demons. I was really excited to get Mockingjay too. It was in my mailbox Monday night and didn't even realize it until Tuesday morning when I went and checked it, I was really upset about that. Enjoy the rest of your books! =)

  4. Agreed with geekyreads... I really liked Hush,Hush as well! :)

  5. Geekyreads: Jeremy has already read it and reviewed it. Read his review here: I just haven't been able to read it yet. We do have Crescendo though and I can't WAIT to read it!

  6. Glad you got your Mockingjay! :D I used to work at Wal-Mart forever ago and if they scan out a book or movie before 12:01 am on the day of release they lose their license to have access to the highly anticipated books/movies.

I remember when the Harry Potter books came out and they would be in pallets in the back tightly shrink wrapped and you would lose your job if you even tried to get one early. Oh.... but the anticipation about killed me :D
